Just checking to see if last.fm integration works as stated in this announcement. If it does, well color me pleased.  Oh, yeah, and if you want to check out my last.fm profile, it can be found here:  http://www.last.fm/user/eng1ne.

Ok, Wow

Yeah yeah, so I've updated like 9 times today.  I'm entertaining you, dammit.
Take a look at this video:

Now for some observations:
  • Granted, it's the 60s, but do you really need two tambourine players?
  • There's a guy holding a clarinet.  I wonder if playing a few seconds of music is his whole job in the band.
  • Apparently the Carpenters are brother and sister, but all they sing are love songs.
  • I hear a trumpet, but I see no trumpet player.  The band can afford two tambourine players but no trumpeters?
  • The giant letters spell out Y-O-U.  I'm not sure why.

Code Monkey Not Crazy, Just Proud

So tonight, I was reading about PAX on Slashdot and part of the article mentioned that one of the live performers was Jonathan Coulton. I wasn't familiar with his work so I decided to go to YouTube to find some videos. My favorite is below. It is an AMV (Anime Music Video) but I think it captures the essence of the song really well.

Pretty much every song I have heard on his site I have liked. Being a huge They Might Be Giants fan, my favorite is probably Mr. Fancy Pants (and it is a free download!), but honestly they are all really great.

If you like him at all I would recommend buying a song or an album to show your support. I know I am.

Why Is It So Cool?

  • Mar. 8th, 2006 at 11:54 AM
Why am I so fascinated by people playing the Super Mario game music on a guitar? It's so awesome though.

In this older video, the guitarist does surprisingly accurate sound effects too.

And this Google Video of a guy playing both parts on an 11-string bass.

There is more.. but I'm bored of it now.
